Updates, yeah seriously...

I have decided I need a change. I need to do more with myself rather than be a couch potato and sleep.  So lets back up a bit here; I'm going to post some more progress pics and details. I've told so many People and I'm sure this might help eh... Alrighty, here we go.

Taken a few hours after being carted in via Ambulance.  My friend found me lying in the street with traffic going around me.  He said he was yelling for help when an older gentleman asked if we needed an ambulance.  I was unconscious for at least an hour and came to when 2 korean Drs/Nurses (don't know) were resetting my wrist. It was pretty gnarly if you ask me.

As you can see I was right at home. Chillen in my short hospital pants.  The guy on the left is my buddy that was riding behind me and found me right after the accident.

One of many IV's

Right after Surgery; chillen in the ICU.  At this point the Drs had told me about my injuries: Broken radius and ulna (open fracture), deep elbow laceration and bone fragments stuck in my forearm, severe contusions on my lungs, liver, and heart.  They said my knee was just bruised and sore at this point.
Post wrist surgery 1.  You can see the pins here. Little did i know they were pulling my radius too tight and the wrist was healing crooked.
Cheesin'... Gotta stay positive eh?
Even a slight black eye under my right eye. Literally not a scratch on my left side.  Only the right.
The Hospital logo on my sweet pants.
Back of my right arm a few days after the wreck.
Never slept more than 2 hours a night for over 2 months. Shoulder and chest pain was always the worst.  Little did I  know I had torn my pectoral off my humerus. (Surgery on Jan 22)
Including my Knee after surgery, I had over 60 stitches in Korea.  Here they were finally removed from my elbow and left a pretty big scar.
So after 2 weeks of complaining they finally re-X-rayed my right knee and told me I broke my Tibia.  I did some research and found that a slight break in the Tibia is very very common when you tear your ACL. I was convinced and scheduled an MRI.  I was stuck in this sucker for a week. Horrible.
Post MRI they decided to take the massive splint off and put me in an ACL brace.  You can see my scabs on my knee were the last to heal.
I talked with a Korean friend about my knee and he recommended his surgeon. He had torn and had surgery on both his ACLs.   He recommended Dr. Eun (on the left).  Not sure who the Dr on the right is but the middle is Dr. Steadman (Steadman Hawkins Orthopedics)  My friend Jinsoo is a pro Snowboarder and avid surfer I took his advice and scheduled an appointment.

My good Friend An Mina went with me to my Ortho appt.   She was great and came to make sure I was well taken care of and to clarify everything with the Dr.  I am so thankful for her! I found out my ACL was completely gone and that I tore 60% of my meniscus.

I opted to have both surgeries done at once. Although more painful and whatnot the Dr. recommended this because of the timeframe I wanted to be healed.  This picture is 1 week after surgery. Looking good even though my quad was already gone at this point.

3 weeks post knee surgery. They put me in this soft blue ACL brace.  It was a pain in the ass to take the bus and subway from home to the outpatient center and rehab facility.  Not to mention I was on crutches with a broken wrist.  This is a picture of my hard cast right before it was taken off. I actually worked one day before this was cut off so I let all my Tuesday/TR students sign it.

One of many casts.
Soooo crooked. Ugh!
Healed way too compressed which basically left it dislocated...
A month after surgery I was complaining to my father via kakao talk that I couldn't sleep because of knee pain.  My knee was extremely swollen and hot.  After going all night without a minute of sleep I took a taxi to the Dr. to have him check it out.  Sure enough after he aspirated (drained) my knee he knew I had an infection.  Never was confirmed but was most likely a form of a staph infection.  They usually are found in 1 of every 100 patients post op.  The drain was awful. No numbing shots; just a massive needle stuck into my joint capsule.
They operated just 8 hours later and I was forced to stay in the Hospital for 2 weeks to be monitored and medicated via IV antibiotics.
The Pad on my chest was put on all my severe road rash. Seriously it basically healed it all in less than a week.  Crazy.

After 2 months I booked a flight home and have been here in Colorado since August 26th.  I've had my wrist rebuilt since and Pec surgery is scheduled for Jan 22nd.  I'm honestly tired of writing about this today so I'll post more details about the last couple months in the states soon.... PROOOOMISE!
---J C    OUUUUTTT!

Pretty heavily medicated for the first week, but still trying to laugh about the whole thing. Being weird as usual.

Lucky

I am a lucky guy...

Last Saturday I crashed my 900rr on a busy road and walked away (carried away via ambulance) with scrapes and a broken wrist.  It really makes you think when you go through something like this.. I have a lot in life to be thankful for; especially my amazing friends and family.  Thanks everyone for your support, visits, thoughts, and prayers. It means a lot!! It has been a week and Iv'e already began to recover quite well; aside from soreness and pain I'm doing verrrrry well. I promise to stay more current now due to my extra free time.

Ball Hockey Spring 2012

So this Ball Hockey season has been interesting. I was drafted pretty well by Ian Pollard of the Red Army (back to back champs)

We won 1 game, lost 23 and tied 1.

Then came the 1st round of the Playoffs... Well we were the 8 seed (the worst), and we beat the best team in the league (The Thunder).

Damn it feels good to upset the cockiest team in CBHK history... and to pull off the biggest upset in league history.  We're set to play the Fighting Cocks which is the team that includes my roomate and most of my friends.  I'll keep everyone updated with who wins the next round... Who knows, we could take the cup eh???

On a side note, I'm playing my first LAX game in like 3 or 4 years tomorrow down in Suwon. Pretty excited. We are going to do some sightseeing after too. Stay tuned!!!!!!!!

In the meantime, here are some pictures from the season.. featuring me kk

I'm out like a trout,
